OMG! They actually closed admission to the grounds for about an hour at 5pm because they needed to pause the buildup of the crowds. We got in just before that. They never really diminished as we left the grounds at 6:30 to hop back on the S-bahn to go back to Pasing and our hotel there.

Walking about 20 to 30 minutes (roughly 2kms) from our Hotel MIANO in Pasing along the Wurm River walk to get to the Castle which has a beautiful lake and benches & swans and ducks, and also an interior court and cafe.

This Castle was built as a hunting lodge and summer house by Duke Albrecht in 1432 to house his secret wife, who was discovered to be a commoner by his father, declared a witch and whom he had thrown off a bridge into the River Danube in 1435. Harsh!

This birdhouse from the Hansel & Gretl style path right along the side of the River Wurm. Just delightful!

You can just catch a glimpse of the River Wurm here and these mushrooms growing on the side of the old tree are pretty crazy looking!

This is a cafe in Pasing that is between the start of the River Wurm’s walk to the Schloss and enroute back through the town to our hotel ~ we did, of course, stop at a bakery before we hit the hotel!
